KEY POINTS:
SYDNEY - The search for the Brisbane teenager missing after Wednesday's harbour collision that claimed three lives has entered its third day.
Nine boats crewed by police, NSW Maritime Authority, volunteer coastal patrol and coast guard units, began the search for champion iceskater Morgan Inness, 14, early today after a briefing at Balmain in Sydney's inner west.
Police say the boats are traversing parts of Sydney Harbour already searched.
The teenager disappeared after a HarbourCat ferry collided with the private wooden cruiser Island Gypsy under the Sydney Harbour Bridge just before 11pm on Wednesday (1am Thursday NZT).
Tidal flow, the depth of the water, vessel activity on the harbour and the location of collision were discussed at a briefing.
Police divers will remain on standby.
The motor cruiser had been carrying a dozen members of Australia's skating community on a sightseeing tour of the harbour.
Three people, including NSW Ice Skating Association (NSW ISA) president Alan Blinn, 47, and Simone Moore, 44, who is also involved with the NSW ISA, were killed with eight others injured.
