A 10-year-old boy has been impaled on the handlebar of his scooter in Sydney's northwest.
A Careflight spokesman said the boy was riding his scooter across the road at Stanhope Gardens when he was struck by a car around midday on Monday.
The boy was thrown in the air and landed on top of the car, with the scooter's handlebar penetrating his stomach, the spokesman said.
The boy was conscious and stabilised at the scene.
He is in a stable condition at Westmead Children's hospital.
