A member of the public has alerted police after discovering "human bones" washed up on Bondi Beach.
Officers were called to the beach in Sydney's east at 9pm on Tuesday after reports of unidentified remains on the sand near the water's edge, according to Daily Mail.
The bones have been taken away for forensic examination and the death is not yet being treated as suspicious.
The examination will try to determine how long the remains had been at the beach for and where they came from.
At least 10 police officers were seen searching the beach this morning for any more bones after Tuesday night's discovery.
