STOCKHOLM (AP) Sweden says it is sending a transportation aircraft unit to Cyprus to assist with the dismantling of Syria's chemical weapons arsenal.
The country's government decided Thursday to assist the United Nations and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons with the mission to dismantle the weapons.
It said the C-130 Hercules aircraft with staff will be stationed in Cyprus until Dec. 31 at the latest to help with the transportation of employees and equipment in Syria.
