Prosecutors filed a civil lawsuit in Jakarta against former Indonesian dictator Suharto last night, seeking US$1.54 billion ($1.99 billion) in damages and funds allegedly stolen from the state during his 32 years in power.
The money was allegedly moved from the Indonesian Central Bank through state-owned banks to a Suharto-headed fund.
