A study published in the British Journal of Psychiatry which looked at the mental health of hundreds of servicemen and women returning from deployment in Iraq found no deterioration in the mental health of the British soldiers - and a significant relative improvement in their psychological well-being.
The team from King's College London analysed questionnaires from 421 members of 16 Air Assault Brigade. They were questioned before and after taking part in operations for around four months.
