A strong earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 6.2 has struck off Tonga.
The US Geological Survey said there had been no tsunami or damage reported from the quake, which was felt at 1.50am (12.50am NZT) today.
The quake struck about 270 kilometres south of Tonga's capital Nuku'alofa, with its focus located about 10 km below the seabed.
