Former International Monetary Fund head Dominique Strauss-Kahn was being questioned by French police late last night as a suspect in a prostitution ring inquiry.
Strauss-Kahn, once a front-runner for the French presidency, was being held in custody at a police station in Lille, the BBC Online reported.
Police had questioned a number of prostitutes who admitted having sex with him, the broadcaster said. He insisted he did not know they were sex workers.
