Residents in southeast Texas are being urged to stay put as former hurricane Harvey inches south.
The storm is on a track forecasters say will bring it back into the Gulf of Mexico for some slight strengthening before returning into Texas.
Harvey continues to be a tropical storm with 64km/h winds.
In an update today, the US National Hurricane Centre said Harvey would reach the coast tomorrow NZT and spend much of Wednesday over water, where it could increase wind strength to 72km/h.
Forecasters think Harvey will go inland on Thursday with a path over Houston and then diminish in strength as it heads deeper into Texas and northern Louisiana.
