SYDNEY - A 40-year-old New Zealand man who was bashed and stabbed with a broken glass at a Sydney hotel on Tuesday night has been released from hospital.
The man of Korean descent told his wife he was meeting someone at the Avillon Hotel in Pitt St.
Police said the man was in the foyer of the bar when he was approached by 12 men, who engaged in conversation before an altercation took place.
The man suffered a deep cut to his neck and chest when stabbed with a broken glass.
He spent Tuesday night in St Vincent's Hospital before being interviewed by police late yesterday and then being released.
Police today declined to elaborate further on what happened.
