Sri Lanka's President dissolved Parliament to make way for elections a day after authorities arrested the Opposition leader.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa's move to call parliamentary elections follows his sweeping victory at the polls last month over his former Army chief General Sarath Fonseka, arrested by the military on sedition charges. An aide to the President said the poll would be in the first week in April.
Fonseka's wife, Anoma, claims she has not been told where her husband is being held.
