Spate of violence kills troops in Afghanistan

A roadside bomb killed four American soldiers in eastern Afghanistan as a blast in the south killed two British soldiers.

Separately, a suicide bomber attacked a Nato convoy in Kabul but instead killed two passersby.

Last night nine policemen were killed and at least 24 other people were wounded after an attack on a police headquarters in Lashkar Gah,Helmand province.
