MADRID (AP) Spain's Supreme Court has shelved an investigation into former Socialist minister and current lawmaker Jose Blanco for suspected influence peddling.
The court said Thursday there was no evidence to show Blanco unlawfully used his influence while serving as development minister to help a friend achieve a business goal that could not have been possible otherwise.
Blanco was a development minister from 2009 to 2011 under then Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
