MADRID (AP) Spanish police say they have arrested five people, seized half a ton of cocaine and confiscated 10 million euros ($13.5 million) in a crackdown on a drug trafficking gang.
A police statement Tuesday said the five arrested in Madrid and the eastern port city of Valencia included two Colombians, two Guatemalans and a Spaniard.
Police said the money was stashed in cardboard boxes in a house close to Valencia.
The statement said officers seized a total of 518 kilograms (1,140 pounds) of cocaine in the raids.
Spanish police made their biggest cash seizure when they found 25 million euros in 2011 in a drug raid.
