MADRID (AP) A Spanish court has sentenced a man to four years in prison for possessing bomb-making materials with which he planned to attack a university campus on the holiday island of Mallorca.
Juan Manuel Morales, 21, was arrested in 2012 when police seized some 140 kilograms (308 pounds) of bomb-making material that he had bought through the Internet.
According to the sentence pronounced on Wednesday, Morales had visited web sites dealing with massacres at U.S. and German schools and kept a diary which recorded plans to carry out an attack the campus.
The court said Morales, who pleaded guilty, suffered a personality disorder that affected how he dealt with people and problems and that the sentence took this into account.
