Angry that the military planned to send him back to Iraq and keep him past his due date to leave the Army, a United States soldier recorded a hip-hop song that describes going on a shooting spree. As a result, Specialist Marc Hall was considered a threat to his unit and has been held on criminal charges in Georgia for the past month. His lawyers say it was a simple protest, but the charges say he also told soldiers he would "go on a rampage" and "was planning on shooting the brigade and battalion commanders".
