LONDON - A woman who encouraged her sons to join the Army of their adoptive country and serve in Iraq is facing deportation.
Joy Bowman, 49, who fled an abusive husband in Jamaica six years ago, and her daughter, 15, are to be deported for staying in Britain illegally. And her sons, whose Army service brings an entitlement to British citizenship, now believe their "service for this country counts for nothing", adding she inspired them to join the forces. Mrs Bowman has been studying to become a nurse.
