Snipers scare off pirates

South Korean snipers hovering in a helicopter chased away pirates pursuing a North Korean freighter, a rare instance of co-operation between the two Koreas.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said that a warship sent a helicopter to assist the North Korean vessel, 37km south of Aden, after receiving a distress call.
