Motorists who listen to music in their car believe that singing along to their favourite tunes helps them drive more safely, according to a British report.
Music helps to soothe drivers, making them more relaxed and calmer, a survey of 1780 people by British firm Privilege Insurance found.
Easy listening, classical and rock music are most likely to help drivers concentrate, although other forms of music, such as dance or house or highly emotive songs, could divert motorists' attention.
One in four of those questioned said music helped them concentrate.
