The video published by La Opinion de Tenerife showed there was no danger signs before the drama which resulted in several revellers suffering broken bones.
Tourists and locals standing at the side of the stage - filmed just inches from the blonde in a red dress who was centre stage the incident occurred - fell with her.
Those caught up in the drama could be heard screaming as they plunged into the basement, which had operated as a bingo but was unused when the floor gave way.
An investigation into the incident, which is being coordinated by a local court, is now underway.
Officials have confirmed that two Britons, one aged 59 and another 57, are among those who were hurt falling into the lower floor, which was empty at the time.
The Foreign Office said it was in contact with "a number of British nationals" who had been injured in the incident.
A spokesman for a local emergency services coordinator said one of the Britons had suffered a broken bone.
She said: "I can confirm one of the injured people is a 59-year-old British man.
"He was taken to the Hospital Del Sur in Tenerife and is suffering form a broken bone in his lower body. At the moment I can't tell you if it's a broken leg or ankle or his hip.
"There may be other British and Irish casualties but we are still collating information from the hospitals the casualties have been taken to and we won't be able to confirm until later today."
Authorities said he was the second Briton was a 57-year-old man who suffered a head injury.
He has been taken to a hospital in the Tenerife capital Santa Cruz after initially being rushed to the Hospital del Sur in southern Tenerife - his condition is not serious.
A spokesman for an emergency services coordinator said other Brits could be among the injured, who include several foreigners whose nationalities have not yet been revealed.
Videos posted on social media showed emergency services workers attending to people on the ground or on benches outside of the nightclub.
Emergency services took 21 people to hospital and treated another person at the scene who was released, the regional government said.
"Apparently the floor of the nightclub literally broke in half and people plunged into the basement below. There was a lot of people hurt. There's loads of people in different hospitals.
"Police had closed off the street leading to the nightclub."
"My friend didn't fall but he suffered a sprained ankle. He said people were dancing and enjoying themselves when it happened."
A spokesman for a local emergency services coordination centre said: "We received an alert that the floor of a disco had given way in an area of approximately four square metres.
"After collapsing, the people who were inside plunged about a floor's height into the basement."
The Butterfly Disco Club opens from 11pm to 6am - a website profile says: "The Butterfly nightclub has two larges spaces. In the main space you'll hear the greatest gay hits.
"In the second room there is a stage where every night there is a show."
One recent British visitor wrote on its Facebook page: "This club is great especially on a Friday and Saturday night. The Go-Go dancer is very hot and the drag show at 2am is also good.
"It has a nice large backroom which is very popular."
Another who went to the club in May said: "Had a great time here. The drinks were amazing and reasonable. Will definitely be back next year when we travel back on holiday from Cornwall."
Scot travel worker Kyle Reid-Hulley, from Glasgow, wrote: "Absolutely loved this club. It's a little tricky to find but once you do, you won't regret it.
"Staff were brilliant and made you feel welcome. Thank you for an amazing atmosphere and a well-run club. See you again soon."
A spokesman for the club said he was still waiting for information on the nationalities of those caught up in the drama.
He said: "We get a lot of foreign visitors including people from Britain so it's possible that there are British people injured but I just don't know at the moment.
"I helped to clear the club because our main concern was making sure as many people as possible got out safely and after that I don't know what happened inside.
"The collapse affected part of the stage area and part of the floor.
"I don't want to start talking about what might have gone wrong before we speak properly to the police and lawyers and they are able to investigate what had happened properly."
