Greek shipping magnate Pericles Panagopoulos, kidnapped in Athens on January 12, has been released near the Greek capital after his family paid a ransom of 30 million ($73.8 million), police said.
A police car on patrol near the Aspropyrgos industrial zone west of the capital spotted the 74-year-old shipping tycoon.
Kidnappings are rare in Greece and the perpetrators are usually caught, but this is the third high-profile case since mid-2008.
