A 49-year-old surfer has died after a shark attack in South Africa's southern Plettenberg Bay.
The man was surfing near the mouth of the Keurbooms River when he was attacked.
He was pulled out of the water by fellow surfers.
Paramedics found shark bite marks on his thigh and groin. He was taken to hospital but could not be saved.
Surfing website Wavescape quoted witnesses as saying the shark looked like a "small" great white.
