A surfer has been attacked by a shark at North Avoca Beach, on the New South Wales central coast.
The shark bit the 28-year-old man while he was surfing.
He has a five centimetre puncture wound to his right forearm and another puncture wound to his right wrist. He is in a stable condition in hospital.
It is thought the shark was a bronze whaler, about 1.8 metres long.
