All children would be taught about Aboriginal culture under a scheme suggested by Australia's Governor-General, Michael Jeffery.
He raised the idea during a special dawn ceremony at Uluru to launch this week's Australia Day celebrations.
He said he believed it was important all Australians learned more about Aboriginal culture and values and called on education authorities to consider introducing a uniform indigenous education scheme.
