KEY POINTS:
CANBERRA - Schapelle Corby's Indonesian lawyer isn't worried the bitter row involving her family and friends could damage the convicted drug runner's appeal against her sentence.
The Australian media has been running conflicting claims about the alleged involvement in drugs of friends and relatives of Corby, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence in a Bali jail.
Corby's sister Merecedes has denied drug allegations against her.
The row has blown up as Indonesia's Supreme Court considers a final appeal by Corby against her conviction for drug smuggling.
However, her lawyers do not believe the controversy will hurt her chances of a successful appeal.
"Because this fact (the arguments) is getting in front of the court (it cannot influence the court)," Corby's lawyer Erwin Siregar told ABC Radio.
Lawyer for Bali bomber Amrozi, Adnan Wirawan, says media bluster is unlikely to affect the outcome of Corby's appeal.
"Officially or technically that is not possible," Mr Wirawan told ABC Radio.
"They have eyes, they can read, they go through the internet and in my years of experience I never heard that judges could be influenced that way. But beyond that, it's everybody's guess because they are human and they could be influenced."
The outcome of the appeal is expected soon.
