Todd Palin, the husband of former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, has been hospitalised after a "very serious" snowmobile accident.
It is unclear what condition the 51-year-old is in, but NBC reports that he is hospitalised in an intensive care unit.
Sarah Palin was scheduled to speak at a Donald Trump event in Florida on Monday, but the event was cancelled just seven minutes before it was set to start.
"Todd Palin was in a bad snow machine accident last night and is currently hospitalised," a statement from the Trump campaign said.
"Governor Palin is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon. Mr Trump's thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time."
While Palin has been one of Donald Trump's biggest allies in this campaign, he had yet to personally tweet his sympathies for her husband. However, his political rival Ted Cruz was quick to issue a statement on the social media platform.
