Curators have found the remains of 39 saints at the British Museum in London, the Guardian reported.
The relics, packed in cloth hundreds of years old, were found when a 12th-century German portable altar was opened for the first time since it came into the British Museum collection in 1902.
The most precious relic was that of Italian St Benedict, who in the early 6th century founded the Western monastic tradition.
