MOSCOW - An avalanche in central Russia on Monday killed at least four children and seriously injured nine others, RIA news agency quoted a spokesman for Russia's emergency ministry as saying.
The avalanche struck as the children, aged 9 to 13, were skiing in a ravine outside the town of Bugulma, in the central Russian region of Tatarstan.
"Four children were killed and nine are in intensive care," the spokesman said, RIA reported.
