Hold on parents A Sydney primary school is limiting parents dropping off their children to a maximum of 10 minutes on the premises.
Parents and guardians arriving early to pick up children after school have also been ordered to stay away from classrooms. Instead they are directed to an "appropriate area" where they have been told to wait for their children.
Bennett Rd Public School at Colyton, on the western outskirts of Sydney, has a roll of 410 pupils. Principal Noel West said: "Some parents who wait in the grounds for classes to be dismissed are staying longer than 10 minutes. Learning time is disturbed when there are people waiting near rooms. There are also safety issues if strangers are in the grounds."
