A roadside bomb targeting a police patrol killed 11 people yesterday in an area of northwestern Pakistan where many citizens fled last year to escape a large Army offensive against the Taleban, police said.
The explosion, which killed three police officers and eight civilians, struck the patrol vehicle as it travelled through the town of Dera Ismail Khan.
On the other side of the border, at least 12 people were killed in a suicide bombing in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
Police say five of the dead were foreigners.
