ISLAMABAD (AP) A roadside bomb struck a vehicle carrying Pakistani soldiers in a northwestern tribal area near the Afghan border on Thursday, killing four of them, two military officials said.
The officials said five soldiers were also wounded in the attack in the Spinwam village in the North Waziristan region.
They blamed Pakistani militants for planting the bomb, but provided no further details.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to brief the media on the record.
No one claimed responsibility, but authorities have blamed Pakistani Taliban for previous similar attacks in the North and South Waziristan tribal regions and elsewhere in the country.
