Rising fire threat in Victoria

There will be no reprieve for thousands of Victorian firefighters today as high winds and 40C heat threaten to worsen the state's bushfire crisis.

Fire authorities declared a statewide total fire ban ahead of anticipated winds gusting to 60km/h.
