Three males, believed to be aged between 17 and 30, were found dead at a unit in Toowoomba.
News reports said they had been beaten so badly with a pipe police would need dental records to positively identify them.
Five teens - three males and two females - had been questioned in relation to the killings.
Police said the five were stopped at gunpoint after officers intercepted their van at Goodna, southwest of Brisbane and 100km east of Toowoomba, after a short pursuit.
