A 14-year-old boy has been charged with stabbing another teenager to death at a suburban New Year's party in Cairns.
Queensland Police on Sunday said a teen from Edmonton had been charged with murder following the alleged stabbing death of a 17-year-old at a wild Manoora house party in the early hours of January 1.
The charges follow a police investigation into the deadly New Year's Eve gathering on Lychee Close.
Police will allege the 14-year-old stabbed two 17-year-olds from Mooroobool during a disturbance that broke out near the party at about 1am.
The Cairns Post was reporting that the party got out of hand after being shared on social media, with the late-night brawl involving up to 30 people in the street.
