The Queensland Government is looking at introducing laws that make it illegal to photograph children in public places if the images are to be used for an offensive purpose.
No laws exist at present prohibiting the photography of fully clothed children in public places, even if those images do appear on websites linked to child pornography groups.
The danger of innocent children being unwittingly caught up in the paedophile net was highlighted last week after a website was discovered that contained images of children playing at the beach and at water parks across Queensland.
