KEY POINTS:
LONDON - Queen Elizabeth is the favourite to be voted the greatest living Briton at a glittering awards ceremony tomorrow.
She is widely expected to lift the top accolade at the "Greatest Britons 2007" awards, designed to celebrate British achievement over the past year.
The title is voted for by the public, and other finalists are former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, pop star Robbie Williams, Baroness Margaret Thatcher and actress Dame Julie Andrews.
Viewers are expected to be able to vote for who they would like to see clinch the top title of "greatest living Briton" during the ceremony, due to be broadcast live on ITV at 2000 GMT on Monday (8.00am NZT Tuesday).
It is the only one of a string of awards voted for by the public, ITV said.
Bookmaker William Hill said on Sunday the Queen was odds-on favourite at 4-6 to take the title.
It rated Sir Paul as second favourite at 11-4, while Williams was the best backed outsider, with odds being cut from 12-1 to 4-1.
