Protestant demonstrators clashed with police in Belfast at the weekend, hurling blast bombs, petrol bombs and bricks as trouble flared after a parade by Orangemen near a nationalist area of the city.
Heavily armed riot police fired baton rounds and used water cannon to try to disperse angry crowds in west Belfast, while officers also came under attack from stone-throwing mobs in parts of the north and east of the city.
