Several thousand Irish Catholics and British Protestants united in a silent protest against IRA dissidents who gunned down two soldiers and a policeman since the weekend.
More than 2000 people gathered at lunchtime in front of Belfast City Hall; thousands more gathered in Londonderry and Newry.
