Prosecutors of an Australian charged with killing British tourist Peter Falconio in 2001 have asked that the release of a film inspired by the event be delayed in the state where the trial is to be held.
Wolf Creek, about three backpackers abducted by a man in the Australian outback, is scheduled for national release on November 3.
Prosecutors have asked Roadshow Films to delay the release in the Northern Territory, where Falconio disappeared in 2001 after he and girlfriend Joanne Lees were ambushed on a Outback highway.
The trial, which begins on Monday, will be held in the Territory's capital Darwin and is likely to last six weeks.
