Producer and director Bruce Paltrow, father of Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, died in Rome yesterday after a bout of pneumonia and a recurrence of throat cancer.
Paltrow, 58, who helped to produce some of the most highly rated TV series of recent decades, including hospital drama St Elsewhere and Homicide: Life on the Street, was in Italy to celebrate his daughter's 30th birthday.
