A Harvard-educated African Prince has been jailed for 12 years after trying to smuggle £163,000 ($425,700) of cocaine inside hollowed-out onions.
Prince Adegbenie Olateru-Olagbegi, 55, a member of a royal Nigerian family, hoped the pungent vegetables would provide the ideal cover for the drugs as he arrived at Heathrow Airport from Lagos.
His luggage also contained prawns and dried fish in a further attempt to conceal the smell, but a sniffer dog still caught a whiff and he was stopped in the 'Nothing To Declare' channel.
