US President Barack Obama has left Australia and is on his way to Bali for the East Asian summit.
The president's plane Air Force One lifted off from Darwin tonight.
His departure ended a busy round of engagements in Canberra and Darwin which included an address to a joint meeting of federal parliament and a stirring visit to the troops in the top end RAAF Base Darwin.
Mr Obama visited the Australian War Memorial in Canberra to pay homage to the nation's war dead.
He also went to a Canberra high school where he enjoyed a lively discussion with students.
