SYDNEY - A woman who found a dead woman's torso wrapped in plastic at a reserve in Sydney's west says a premonition about missing youngster Kiesha Abrahams led her there.
She made the grisly discovery at Nurragingy Reserve in Doonside on Wednesday night.
The woman told police she had a feeling she would find something of interest in the area, but had actually thought it would relate to 6-year-old Kiesha's disappearance.
"Well, it's quite interesting that there's a woman and she had a sense or feeling it was worth her while to come to this particular part of the park," Detective Chief Inspector Pamela Young from the homicide squad said at the scene yesterday.
"We're still exploring that, it's certainly an interesting proposition of hers."
The woman believed she had special powers that helped her find the body, Young said. She thought her powers could help locate Kiesha, who was last seen 12 days ago in Mt Druitt, Young said.
Post mortem investigations into Wednesday's grim find are underway with police searching bush and waterways for body parts. Police believe the torso could be that of a woman missing for nearly two months.
Young said they were contacting relatives of Kristi McDougall, who has been missing since June 19. McDougall, the mother of a 2-year-old boy, was last seen in Homebush and told friends she was on her way to the Ermington area in the city's west.
