A Muslim preacher described as a leader of a radical Sunni Islam group was shot dead in Detroit yesterday while firing at FBI agents.
Luqman Ameen Abdullah, 53, was wanted on charges including conspiracy to sell stolen goods and illegal possession and sale of firearms.
He refused to surrender, fired a weapon and was shot dead by agents, an FBI spokeswoman said.
Court papers said his group, named Ummah, regularly preached anti-US rhetoric and his followers had trained in the use of firearms, martial arts and sword fighting.
