A scam reported around the world where Japanese women were sold Australian and British sheep that they were told were poodles appears to be a hoax, according to nineMSN in Australia.
Police in Japan have reportedly not heard of the scam.
The scam was allegedly uncovered when Japanese moviestar Maiko Kawamaki went on a talk-show and wondered why her new pet would not bark or eat dog food.
