A Kansas police officer has been fired for threatening a five-year-old girl on Facebook.
Former officer Rodney Lee Wilson was dismissed from Overland Park Police on Friday, after the department heard about a comment written from his Facebook account to LaNaydra Williams, a woman he did not know.
He left a comment on a public photo from 2014 of Ms Williams' daughter, India, showing off a pair of new boots.
It read: "We'll see how much her life matters soon ... better be careful leaving your info open where she can be found :) hold her close tonight, it'll be the last time."
Ms Williams said she had no ties to the man and couldn't understand why he was targeting her. Speaking to Fox 4, she claimed that before the notification appeared on her page, she hadn't even heard of Overland Park, and didn't even know anybody from Kansas.
