Astonishing footage has emerged of a van driver grappling with a trucker, reversing his van into him and then smashing his victim's window with a shovel.
The road rage attack happened when two men in a lorry were set upon by a man in a smaller pick-up truck on the M62 near Eccles, Greater Manchester earlier this month.
Police have released CCTV of the attack as they attempt to track down the man who carried out the sustained attack beside the busy road.
The footage shows the attacker arguing with the two men after a collision as they both drove onto the M62 motorway from the M60 at midday on November 9.
Police say the row started when the two lorry drivers asked the man for his insurance details and he became abusive and starting punching one of them.
After the two men returned to their cab, the van driver jumped into his vehicle and reversed at speed at their lorry, smashing into the radiator and causing huge damage.
He then ran at the lorry and tried to get into the cab, where the drivers had locked themselves in. When he failed, he got a shovel from his van and smashed the window, while the driver sat just centimetres away.
PC John Cavanagh from GMP's Roads Policing Unit said: "This attack was unbelievable, and has been clearly captured on CCTV.
"Luckily neither of the men were seriously injured however they have been left terrified by the incident.
"The driver and passenger in the lorry were just trying to get on with their day's work when they collided with the man in the pick-up truck, accidents happen and they were attempting to deal with the situation in an appropriate manner.
"No one could have anticipated the level of violence they would then fall victim to.
"I am appealing for anyone who may recognise the driver of the pick-up truck to get in touch as soon as possible. It was broad daylight and the man can be clearly seen, someone must know who he is."
