As heroic rescues continue as Cyclone Debbie wreaks havoc in northern NSW and southern Queensland, a woman's body has been recovered on a property.
The woman was found about 20km south of Murwillumbah, police have confirmed.
Police said the woman disappeared in floodwaters from a rural property at Upper Burringbar, and her body was found by a family member about 8am today, according to news.com.au.
Several flood-affected northern NSW towns have now been declared natural disaster zones after hundreds of residents fled inundated homes and nearby rivers peaked.
Several towns in the state's north have been affected by the deluge caused by the remnants of ex-tropical Cyclone Debbie - including Murwillumbah, Chinderah and Kyogle - with the Wilsons, Richmond and Tweed rivers peaking.
