VIENNA (AP) Austrian police say the poacher who killed four people and then himself last month appears linked to nearly 30 other crimes that caused millions in damages.
Police official Franz Polzer says investigations so far have linked Alois Huber to 20 break-ins and burglaries and eight cases of arson.
Polzer said Friday that the resulting damages amount to 8 million euros (nearly $11 million.) and police think that will to rise to 10 million euros ($13.5 million) because they believe Huber committed additional crimes.
Huber, 55, killed three policemen and a paramedic after police tried to question him. He then barricaded himself on his farm in a bunker filled with mostly stolen weapons before setting fire to his hideout and shooting himself in the head.
