WARSAW, Poland (AP) Poland's government has adopted provisions for the country's 2014 budget with deficit of 47.7 billion zlotys ($14.6 billion), lower than the recently-increased deficit for this year.
Finance Minister Jacek Rostowski said Friday that the budget income next year is planned at 276.5 billion zlotys and spending at 324.2 billion zlotys. He did not give a figure for economic growth.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said that first-quarter 2014 growth is expected at 3 percent, compared to just over one percent for all of this year.
Tusk said Friday that his Cabinet will have to seek new sources of income, after it had to raise the 2013 deficit by 24 billion zlotys this year, to reach 51.6 billion zlotys.
The Parliament and President Bronislaw Komorowski still need to approve the draft.
